It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonifacio “Boni” Villaruz who left us on June 30, 2023.

Boni was born to Graciano and Maria (Bañes) Villaruz in Baguio, Philippines in 1939. He moved to Manila for work and it was there that he met and married Miriam and had their first daughter Arlyn. Boni moved his young family to Honolulu, Hawaii, later having their daughter Jennifer.

Boni’s personality was the embodiment of joy and kindness. His ability to find humor in every situation left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege to know him. He was also an avid player of Mahjong, often spending hours engrossed in the game, much to the delight of his loved ones.

A man of many passions, Boni’s legacy will be one of love and laughter he brought to every room he entered. His contagious one-liners and caring nature will forever be engraved in our hearts.

Boni is lovingly remembered by his surviving wife, Miriam Villaruz, and their daughters Arlyn and Jennifer Villaruz. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Valenzuela. Boni was predeceased by his parents, brother, Manolo Villaruz, sisters Carmen Baskinas and Remy Villaruz.

He will be dearly missed by all.
